The field of forest, energy, and environment is for the utilization of the possibilities related to the structural change of wood industry and the know-how of energy and environment matters to develop new business life.

In the Kouvola region, there is a know-how centre of services and suppliers serving the production plants of the field, and this centre has developed as part of the Southeast Finland centre of wood industry, which is significant even in the international scale.
One of the areas on which the forest, energy, and environment field focuses includes the development of new business related to bioenergy as well as research and training in the field.

With the help of these measures, as well as with the help of other projects concerning the utilization of our forests and the issues of the environment aiming at sustainable development, we can contribute to Kouvola becoming profiled as an environmentally friendly city.
